The contemporary river cruise line Travelmarvel, has added three new vessels to its fleet of river ships – the stunning Polaris, Capella and Vega.
And there are great deals to be had with eight-day sailings starting from just $1,595.
The three new ships combine contemporary accommodation with state-of-the-art design. But what can guests expect on board?
APT Travel Group CEO David Cox was on the maiden voyage of the Travelmarvel Vega and said guests, after two years of suspended sailings, were thrilled to be back onboard.
“Arriving at our brand-new contemporary river ship, the Travelmarvel Vega – the excitement was palpable. After many years in development and building we were finally able to get on board and experience it for real. Guests were incredibly excited to board the new vessel and explore the features,” he said.
“The conscientiously designed suites offer all the mod cons with a few little extras thrown in. You can rest assured the curtains all close perfectly so no early morning light will wake you, and the self-shutting draws mean you can’t hear noise from the next cabin. And for the Australian travellers specifically we have ensured the that large cases can fit under the bed comfortably.
“The spacious public areas include multiple restaurants and the Sky Deck Bar understandably became a firm-favourite very quickly. McGeary’s Bar, a feature that was always close to our hearts in development also proved to be a hit with the passengers.”
Take a look inside the new Travelmarvel ship:
Onboard the Polaris, Capella and Vega, there are two main dining options.
Those who prefer fine dining will enjoy Constellations Restaurant, which offers a four-course dinner. The menu constantly evolves according to the destination the ships visit. But guests can savour signature courses like salmon tartare on pumpernickel bread that is finished off with a soup du jour and steak with Mediterranean vegetables.
Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy their dessert options which include a slice of chocolate charlotte, or a raspberry panna cotta.
The restaurants offer an assortment of locally sourced beer and wine to quench your thirst.
For something more casual, McGreary’s Bar, which is in the centre of the ships, offers cold beer and schnitzel in a lively pub setting. It’s the perfect place to listen to some live music, unwind and catch up on the day’s events.
To work off the delightful meals you can make your way to the onboard gym, the walking track or the putting green where you can test out your golf skills. If you prefer to cool off in the water, then the whirlpool is the perfect place to relax as you make your way to new destinations.

Floor-to-ceiling windows will offer an ever-changing picture reel of stunning landscapes, while bi-fold doors open onto a verandah so you can savour an alfresco beverage in the breeze.
At the end of the day, you can retire to your spacious stateroom which features a sumptuous ensuite, luxurious linen, ample storage for those longer voyages as well and other thoughtful touches like a mini-fridge and personal climate control. But the most striking thing about the sleek accommodation on the Travelmarvel vessels are the French balconies.
