Vive la France!
Scenic has announced its 2023 river program with strong incentives for travellers who book early – and already French itineraries are firm favourites.
Scenic’s specials include discounted fares on business class or first-class flights if you book before September. And “Super Earlybird” offers allow cruisers to save up to $1,000 per person on a suite if they pay 12 months in advance. Dining, premium beverages and once-a-lifetime shore excursions are included in the cost.
Scenic told River Cruise Passenger France is selling strongly, but added: “Booking for 2023 is strong but we still have plenty of availability across the season.
“If people have specific dates or a special suite they like to try and get, we would recommend not delaying as worldwide demand is definitely strong.”
The new itineraries include an eight-day Charming Castles and Vineyards of the Rhine and Moselle itinerary departing Frankfurt to Basel on May 3, 2023. It will visit Koblenz, Bernkastel, Cochem, Rudesheim, Rastatt and Breisach before arriving in Basel.
Along the way, there are opportunities to visit the UNESCO listed Liebfrauenkirche in the Roman city of Trier or the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Bernkastel.
In Cochem, you can go on a guided tour through the famous Reichsburg castle. Fares start at $5,395 per person. The itinerary is also available in the opposite direction on April 26, 2023 with fares starting at $5,245 per person.
Cruise extensions are becoming increasingly popular as passengers try and get the most out of their trip to Europe.
A new 2023 extension is Ljubljana and Zagreb, which gives passengers the opportunity to extend a trip for an extra four nights.
The extension is available on the Jewels of Europe, Gems of the Danube, Black Sea Explorer and Danube Delta Discovery river cruise itineraries.
Passengers stay in five star hotels in Slovenia and Croatia. A scenic tour director will lead a guided tour in Bled which includes a Pletna boat ride in Croatia’s Plitvice Lakes National Park, which includes the highest waterfall in Croatia which stands at 78 metres. Fares start at $11,125 per person departing on October 14, 2023.
There are 12 new experiences for travellers on Scenic’s European river schedule.
Whether you want to hike through the vineyards over the slopes of the Rhine River in Rudesheim or visit the family home of French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and you can discover the well-preserved Pont du Gard which dates back to Roman times. There is plenty of choice on the 15 day Jewels of Europe itinerary.
Passengers can paddle along the Gardon river where you will see the opulent rooms and gardens of Paleis Het Loo in Anhem. You will also gain a deeper insight into the history of the Dutch royal family when you sail on the Romantic Rhine and Moselle or Windmills, Tulips and Belgian Delights itineraries.
