Chef, author and presenter Raymond Blanc will join Scenic’s taste of France Gastronomic Bordeaux river cruise later this year.
Joining the voyage at Cadillac for a two-day onboard stay, Chef Blanc will take part in an exclusive talk and Q&A about his life and career.
Guests will discover culinary secrets and tips during an in-depth cooking demonstration. There will also be an informal drinks reception and gala dinner, prepared by the ship’s head chef, in Chef Blanc’s honour.
Chef Blanc said: “Bordeaux is a wonderful place to discover the joys of gastronomy set against the stunning riverside scenery. I look forward to sharing my inspirations and passions with my fellow passengers and raising a toast together to the beauty of this rich culinary region.”
During the cruise guests will join Chef Blanc for an interactive cookery demonstration and tasting, pick up his kitchen secrets during a Q&A session and complimentary book signing, and enjoy a dinner selected by Blanc.
They will also sample some of the region’s most famed gastronomy. In Mâcon, they can meet a local truffle farmer and their specially trained dog to uncover the tricks of the trade, before enjoying a tasting of their delicious produce.
They can taste ripe regional delicacies at an olive farm in Les Baux, or shop with a Scenic chef at Avignon market before returning on board to cook in the kitchen while learning about French cuisine.
The 11-day cruise around Bordeaux, departing August 26 until September 5, offers guests the chance to sample the region’s food highlights while enjoying the luxury of Scenic Diamond. Wine critic Susy Atkins is also joining the voyage, offering exclusive wine masterclasses and tastings.
