AmaWaterways will build a second ship, bound for the Nile due to popular demand.

The new AmaLilia will be the sister ship to the AmaDahlia which was launched last year and is already booked out on multiple sailings.

The AmaLilia will be launched in 2024 where she will sail on an 11-night cruise and land Secrets of Egypt & Nile itinerary.

Starting from Cairo guests will visit iconic sites like Temple of Luxor and the Valley of Kings and Queens. Along the route, there will be shore excursions to see the Great Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza, a tour to see the tomb of Queen Nefertari and a private lunch at the Abdeen Presidential Palace.

The AmaLilia will be similar to its sister ship to the AmaDahlia and feature regionally inspired décor, have spacious staterooms and suites and a specialty restaurant.

“It is incredibly exciting to be able to expand our river cruise offerings on the legendary Nile River with AmaLilia which will be another stunning intimate ship,” Kristin Karst of AmaWaterways told Insider Travel Report.

“Egypt is one of the most fascinating destinations in the world and we’ve seen such wonderful interest from both our loyal guests as well as new guests since we launched our first ship there in September 2021.

“We look forward to welcoming even more travellers to join us to experience the ancient wonders of Egypt.

The AmaDahlia which launched in September last year has a capacity for 72 guests across 36 staterooms, including 16 suites. Each stateroom has marble bathrooms with a bathtub and multi-jet shower and most accommodation features a French and a full balcony, giving guests the perfect vantage point to admire the scenery of the Nile River.

Public spaces include a heated sun deck, swimming pool and bar, a hair and nail salon, The Chef’s Al Fresco Restaurant and two massage rooms.
