Car enthusiasts, especially Schumi fans, will love the newest excursion added to the Jewels of Europe Cruise by Scenic River Cruises.
Before you immerse in the restored castles and tranquil countryside of Amsterdam and Austria, you’ll first discover Germany’s motoring heritage during a special after-hours access to Motorworld.
Dubbed as a venue and a theme park in one, Motorworld Cologne – Rhineland is a service centre that houses vintage and collector vehicles, with a focus on trade, storage, workshops, and accessory shops. It’s practically Disneyland for car aficionados.
Scheduled for Day 3 of the 15-day cruise, the tour in Cologne, Germany is set amongst a large range of vintage, classic and Formula 1 vehicles.
Guests can engage in a range of fun-filled activities as well as explore the private collection of Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher, which is a permanent exhibition.
A truly unique and enriching experience, guests can admire go karts from Schumi’s early days including his sports cars, trophies, unique memorabilia, and naturally most of his Formula 1 cars.
There’s also a small room where guests can watch videos from Schumi’s childhood and some short documentaries – a truly worthy experience for avid Schumi fans.
The Motorworld tour is part of Scenic’s Enrich Destinations feature, where guests can immerse in the culture, heritage and folklore of the countries they sail through.
Scenic Enrich affords spectacular encounters far-removed from those enjoyed by the masses. The Motorworld tour is a handpicked and exclusive excursion unique to the Scenic luxury river cruise offering, and available to guests without charge as part of the cruise line’s award-winning all inclusive service.
While at Cologne, guests can opt to take a stroll through the city and get up close to the filigree twin towers of the famous cathedral, or step inside the cathedral and let the local guide marvel with history.
Alternatively, guests can explore the city’s past and present, from Roman times to its Jewish heritage, during a guided tour, or those who are feeling more active can cycle to Cologne from the charming medieval village of Zons.
A Scenic cruise director will be available to guide and assist guests during the Motorworld trip.
The ticket price for the 15-day Jewels of Europe starts at $8,694.55 featuring ancient trade routes along the rivers of the Rhine, Main, and Danube.
Aside from the Motorworld experience, the voyage also includes other enriching activities such as a visit to a small German village to meet the locals and learn about countryside life, a unique Austrian lunch where guests can hum along to some catchy classics at the exclusive ‘Best of The Sound of Music and Salzburg Show’ or enjoy a private Viennese classical concert at the majestic Palais Liechtenstein.
The tour is on board a five star scenic space ship that can only accommodate 163 guests. There are 39 Scenic Freechoice activities that guests can personalise. The luxury cruise offers butler service for every suite and complimentary full mini-bar restocked daily.
Sailings are scheduled from June to November 2022 and all prices are per-person based on double occupancy.
